Venture Capital is often a lifeline for many startups and emerging companies. How it works is that a venture capitalist makes capital investments into a company in exchange for a stake in the company’s equity.
However, considering many venture capitalists tend to be white straight men, these people will often mostly fund companies that are owned by people like them. This then leaves out companies started by and owned by women, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, refugees, or people from different ethnic backgrounds at a disadvantage – unable to grow despite their potential. And that is what Included Venture Capital is here to change.
Included Venture Capital or Included VC is a globally funded Fellowship that aims to provide venture capital for people from marginalized and diverse communities across the world. The company is on a mission to diversify and change the face of VC, aiming to increase representation and maximize fund success through the transformation of networks, staff, investments, and deal flow to be more inclusive.
Included VC works with over 40 Community Partners and mostly from diverse tech organizations worldwide and aims to spread the word of increased diversity in VC. Some of the organizations Included VC has partnered with include Like Minded Females (LMF) Network, Black Valley, and The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network (TERN), among others, all of which aim to increase representation of underrepresented communities worldwide.
