How to Get Rid of Bloatware on your Android Device

Android devices are the most popular phones in the world and it is easy to see why. They cater to a wide variety of the market.

However, many phone manufacturers will want to create an ecosystem with their phones. So, they will pack these phones with software and apps that perform similar functions to already existing and popular apps.

These alternatives will often be a way for the manufacturer to give priority to their service and try to get users to use their services too. These apps and software are what we call bloatware as they fill space but are rarely used.

Often, you cannot delete these apps conventionally. So, how then can you get rid of the bloatware?

Disable the app

This is the easiest way to open up space from bloatware.

Step 1: Go to Settings

Step 2: Scroll down to the Apps. Click on it

Step 3: Scroll down and find the app you want to disable.

Step 4: When you click on it, you will see a Disable option. Click on it, confirm.

This action will remove the app from your drawer and it won’t run in the background anymore, thus freeing RAM for you.

Remove administrator permission

Sometimes, some apps cannot be disabled or uninstalled since they hold administrator privileges on the phone. So, you won’t be able to uninstall them until you revoke permission.

Step 1: Go to Settings

Step 2: Go to Security and look for the Device Administrator Apps

Step 3: Find the application you want to uninstall.

Step 4: Click on the App and then select Deactivate

This will revoke permission from the app, allowing you to uninstall it.

Use Bloatware remover

Another simple way is to install a bloatware removing app on your phone. These include the NoBloat Free App, touted as the best bloatware remover for Android. NoBloat allows you to disable and delete apps completely. Additionally, a paid version allows you to blacklist apps such that when you reset the phone, it stops the blacklisted apps from automatically installing.

There is also System App remover as well as Root App Deleter.

Bloatware looks like it will remain part of the android family but luckily, there is a remedy for that.
