Mentor in Tech International: For the Women in Big Data

Mentor in Tech International is a mentorship program for women that is offered by the company, Women in Big Data (WiBD).

Women in Big Data in a community of professionals and aspiring professionals who came together in appreciation of the power of big data and have a desire to get female practitioners into the field of big data in future. It is a supportive community of women and allies who are united in a vision to eliminate the limitations of genders in participating and impacting big-data influenced careers.

Mentor in Tech International then, is a mentorship program that they offer that provides mentorship services to women, helping them gain new skills, or navigate transitions or advance in their technology careers. The mentorship program focuses on Data Science and Analytics, Career Development, Business Analytics, Leadership and Management, Product Management, and Project Management.

The program is a 12-week virtual program in which mentees and mentors are expected to meet for at least three one-hour sessions over the 12 weeks of program. The time zone and language difference is taken care of by allowing the mentors and mentees to match their language preferences, and the pair can then agree on the time for their meeting.

How to join

Currently, the program is accepting Winter 2023 sessions, which end this month.

To be eligible to join as a mentee, you need to be first a member of Women in Big Data with 2+ years of professional experience in technical expertise and be strongly motivated to grow in the profession.

To become a mentor, you need to be part of WiBD and with over 5 years’ of experience in professional technology. You also need to have expertise in Data Science and Analytics, Business Analytics, Career Development, Leadership and Management, Product Management, and/or Project Management. Prior mentoring experience is also preferred.
