iPhone announced their latest generation of iPhones to much fanfare and expectations. The iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are set for wide release on September 16, 2022.
Now, iPhone has previously come under fire for failing to truly innovate their phones, but the 14 line-up is different. And this is especially true for the Pro line up. Here is why the iPhone 14 Pro line up is worth all your money.
Let’s just get one thing clear – the iPhone notch was an eyesore to most people. Yet, rather than get rid of it completely, in truly Apple fashion, they navigated around it by turning it into a feature, and quite a useful one at that.
The new selfie and Face ID cut out is larger, but now a functional item on its own, with notifications popping up on the Dynamic Island (as long as the app supports it).
Furthermore, the Dynamic Island also helps keep track of apps running in the background, all of which you can access with a simple tap.
iPhones have managed to remain top in camera quality despite sticking to 12 MP since the iPhone 6s due to great image processing software. Yet, they have taken a step forward with their Pro series by upgrading the cameras massively to 48 MP. Aside from that, the camera sensor is also larger (up to 65% larger) than previous generations, meaning that you get in more light and thus, add more details to your photos.
Indeed, so massive is the upgrade, that some camera tests show that the iPhone 14 Pro Max wipes the floor with the Samsung S22 Ultra, the best flagship camera in the market (at least before the 14 Pro!).
A16 Bionic Chip
The A15 Bionic chip in the iPhone 13s was already much more powerful and smooth than any other chip in the market, hence why they even were used in the base iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.
But the Pro models come with the latest A16 Bionic chip, which is built on a 4nm process and makes the iPhone 14 Pros probably the fastest and most efficient phones out there right now.
Although android have had an always-on display for years, iPhone once again have done it but much better.
On the iPhone, the transition from the home screen wallpaper to the always-on display is smooth. While android devices black out then transition to the always-on display after a few seconds, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max instead, gracefully dim the wallpaper to the always-on display, meaning that you see some parts of your wallpaper in the dimmed screen.
So, these changes, and many others, are a major upgrade never before seen on the iPhone. Coupled with the also greatly upgraded iOS 16, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max give the impression of great phones to use. Just as long as you can pay the prices!
