Laptops might seem to be losing their place to smartphones as the go to portable computer, but they remain essential to many people.

Indeed, while smartphones can do the same things that laptops do, laptops provide a certain convenience when it comes to certain tasks that gives them an edge over the phone. This is especially true in office-based tasks and gaming, which just work better on the laptop.

So, below are mid-range laptops for you that won’t sacrifice much even as they come in at a fair price.

Acer Aspire 5 Slim

The Acer Aspire series of laptops have always stood out due to their sleek design and the 5 Slim is no different.

Thin and light, the Aspire 5 Slim features a 15.6 FHD display, a backlit keyboard, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage among its array of features. Furthermore, the laptop also has a long lasting battery life of 7.5 hours on normal usage, making it perfect to carry around with you throughout the day.

Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga

Lenovo have gained a reputation for building reliable laptops with exceptional physical build. The ThinkBook series, however, offer a much slicker design to the more rugged looking Lenovo ThinkPad series.

The 14s Yoga comes with a 14-inch display fitted in a sleek body that packs 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage (Solid State Drive). The laptop also has a backlit keyboard for night use, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C 3.1 Thunderbolt, USB-C 3.1 Gen 2, a microSD slot, HDMI and microphone/headphone jack.

Furthermore, with a 12-hour battery life, the laptop is a more fitting companion for you when on the move.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C434

Chromebooks seemed destined to rival Windows when they started out, but their limited Chrome OS is no match for Windows.

However, this does not mean the Chromebooks serve no function. Indeed, the Flip C434 comes in a premium looking Aluminum chassis, a 14-inch FHD screen, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB SSD storage. It also has a 2xUSB Type C (Gen 1) ports, USB Type A (Gen 1) port, microSD and audio jack.

For a student or a light user, this laptop is perfect, packing a 10-hour battery life in its 3.3 lbs (1.5kg) weight.

However, if you are looking for a mid-ranging laptop to play some light games on, avoid the Chromebook.

HP Envy 13 (2020)

The HP Envy 13 is a stylish looking laptop that will make you want to spend all your working life at the coffee shop just to display its stylish design.

This 13.3-inch 4K display laptop features a quality metal chassis that packs in it 8 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, Intel Core i7 10th Gen, Windows 10 and Intel Iris Plus Graphics, making it suitable from light gaming.
