This week, in our ongoing series of linking you to opportunities to improve yourself further, we take a look at two scholarships that you can check out if they apply to you:

Standard Chartered Women in Tech Cohort 7 Program in Kenya at Strathmore University

Are you a woman aged 18 and above? Are you a Kenyan or a permanent resident of Kenya and run a tech startup?

If you meet the above criteria, then you can check out this opportunity.

The Standard Chartered Women in Technology incubator Kenya is a leading women tech incubator in Africa. The program is an initiative of the Standard Chartered in partnership with Strathmore University’s @iBizAfrica incubator.

The program offers women several benefits, including:

  • 12 weeks of immersive learning.
  • Access to a network of coaching experts from all the world
  • Access to business to business networking opportunities
  • Opportunity to become part of a supportive Women in Tech Alumni Network
  • Personalized mentorship sessions to address your unique business needs
  • $10,000 equity-free grant seed funding for the top 7 finalists
  • 6 month ongoing support from Standard Chartered and @iBizAfrica to help with go-to-market and scale for the top 7 finalists.

App Academy’s Access Scholarship

Are you an underrepresented minority woman residing in San Jose, California?

If yes, then this scholarship opportunity by App Academy is for you.

The Access Scholarship was created by Facebook, who, each year, partners with a coding boot camp to offer prospective students scholarship money.

App Academy currently has $500,000 in scholarship money, which is available for women, especially those from Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American and Alaskan Native backgrounds.
