Google Pixel 7 Pro: Is it Worth Your Money?

Along with the Google Pixel 7, the Pixel 7 Pro was launched as a direct successor of the Google Pixel 6 Pro.

The 7 Pro is the flagship phone from Google and as with the Pixel 7, it also features a metallic visor rather than a glass one and is pretty much similar in design (but offer different colors to the Pixel 7). But how does it hold up?

Screen

The Pixel 7 Pro features a 6.7-inch QHD screen (3120 x 1440) which peaks at 1,500 nits in brightness and 120Hz refresh rate, so pretty much on par with a phone of its price.

However, the 7 Pro, unlike the 7, has a slight design tweak, featuring smooth curved screen edges which might divide opinions among many. Nonetheless, the screen gives vivid colors, great viewing angles and sharp texts, making viewing movies and playing games a very immersive experience.

Face Unlock returns!

Google stopped the face unlock after putting it on the Pixel 4 and rumors of it making a comeback against the 6 Pro never came to fruition. However, the face unlock returns in the Pixel 7 Pro.

The new face unlock is much faster and intuitive, allowing you to easily bypass the lock screen.

Pixel Pro Cameras

The Pixel 7 Pro has a 50 MP main camera with autofocus, a 12 MP ultra-wide with 126-degree field of view and a 48 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and a 30x Super Res Zoom. On top of that, there is also a 10.8 MP selfie camera.

The photos taken on these cameras are magnificent, producing a lot of beautiful, natural looking colors in different lighting, and captures detail in the shot.

The 5x optical zoom offers for much tighter shots on a subject while still retaining the shot quality. However, the 30x zoom diminished the photo in quality, making it look like a water painting.

As with the Pixel 7, the 7 Pro also features Photo Unblur to sharpen blurry images and also has several other features for a more immersive photography experience.

The ultra-wide camera lets you to capture great macro shots, allowing you to capture the smaller details of life in sharp focus.

The Pixel 7 Pro is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, meaning it can withstand splashes and spilled drinks.

Itis no doubt a good match for the much costlier Samsung S 22 and iPhone 14 Pro, even with major shortcomings when measured against the other two flagships. As such, since it costs less, and still gives value for money, it is indeed, well worth your coins.
